Health Guarantee
Standard Health Guarantee
The breeder extends a health guarantee for 72 hours (From the time the puppy leaves our home) which gives you time to have your new puppy checked by your veterinarian. If a puppy is found to be unhealthy within the specified time the buyer will return the puppy and all relevant registrations for either a full refund or choose a replacement puppy from the next available litter. This guarantee will be void in the evidence of owner recklessness (i.e. suspected inattentive injuries that a veterinarian deems due to an impact injury, owner induced injuries, breaks to the femur, eye injures due to blunt force trauma and/or lacerations, unilateral dysplasia, dislocations, etc.).
Additional Genetic Health Guarantee
The breeder additionally guarantees that the puppy will be free of active hip or elbow dysplasia for 1 year from the date of this contract. Active hip dysplasia is defined as radiographic results determined to be moderate or severe by the OFA. Should a genetic condition be diagnosed at any time during this period, the buyer will notify the seller of the condition within 7 days. The buyer will provide the breeder with all relevant x-rays and reports. Should a genetic disorder be confirmed by the breeder’s veterinarian, the buyer will have the option of one of the following:
- Refund of the full purchase price of the puppy.
- Return the puppy and all relevant registrations to the breeder, and choose another puppy from the next available litter.
The guarantee does not cover any normal everyday things like fleas, mites, colds, flues, or any non-debilitating illnesses. However, we do take every possible action to avoid these conditions and have educational information on handling them. The breeder does not guarantee against non-genetic conditions, disease or injury that may or may not be caused by inappropriate diets, excessive exercise, injury (deliberate or accidental), abuse, untimely or inappropriate veterinary care, etc.
These breeder guarantees do NOT cover buyer’s veterinarian expenses or medications; in NO way shall the breeder be liable for more than the price of the puppy.
